The Team - Jorgelina Marino

Science Director

Dr Jorgelina Marino completed her DPhil at the University of Oxford in 2003 on the spatial ecology of Ethiopian wolves and has studied them ever since. Motivated by the application of research to solve conservation problems, her research interests include specialized carnivores and their prey and using them as model systems to forecast wildlife responses to ever-changing land uses and climates, particularly in mountain environments.

As Science Director, she develops and coordinates EWCP’s research portfolio and is responsible for the long-term monitoring of Ethiopian wolf populations, using these data to inform relevant conservation work. Jorgelina is also a Research Fellow at the University of Oxford’s Wildlife Conservation Research Unit, where she is a Tutor for the Postgraduate Diploma in International Wildlife Conservation Practice.
