The communities living close to Ethiopian wolf recognise that the species is special, as a result of its beauty and endemic status, and attach a value to the wolves in this respect. The wolf and other endemic species are also used as the country's symbols by the government, with the Ethiopian wolf illustrating two postage stamp series and numerous posters promoting Ethiopia’s wildlife.
